Renting your own home for the first time is an exciting and liberating experience. There is much to think about and paperwork to prepare on top of finding the right place. With All Residential Real Estate you will be in good hands so the job won’t seem so big.
With our many years’ extensive experience in the industry you will find we have lots of good advice to offer. Should you have any questions we can assist you and help you find a place that will suit your needs perfectly. When you are hunting about looking for your first place keep these few things in mind.
Create a budget, follow your budget
If this is your first time renting then you may not be used to following a tight budget. It’s really important not to get behind in rent as well as your other commitments such as bills, car payments and fuel. Consider carefully how much you can realistically afford each week on renting beautiful real estate and don’t go above this.
Stick to looking at rental properties within your means and not above to avoid falling in love with a home you cannot have. Don’t forget to include extras such as bills, any loan repayments, food in your budget as well as incidentals. It’s important to put a little extra money aside each week in case of unplanned expenses, like your car needs repairs or you need to visit the doctor.
Make a good impression, be prepared
There will be references required and proof of income. Having these ready to go will mean your application gets in faster so you not only reduce your chances of being beaten to the post, you will prove you are serious and up to the job of being a responsible renter.
Remember you will be expected to pay a bond and first two weeks’ rent so have your finances in order.
Be wise with flatmates
Sharing with other people will mean you can split the cost of everything, which will make life easier financially. However, when you decide to rent with a friend or a stranger, be sure all parties are on the same page when it comes to how they intend to live.
If you want to have quiet weekends at home but your intended flat mate wants to hold regular parties, this won’t work. Be sure that the person you choose to share with is also able to pay their share of rent, et cetera, on time and is reliable and as neat and tidy as you.
